Then you would just add a white stroke to get the double black line, sorry, better example:

Glad we could help, you can also save any of your line styles as a "Style" to reuse. Go to the styles panel, if you don't see it go to View>Studio>Styles, click the 3 lines in the top right, add new category, rename it, then with your line selected you can add new style.

So far, the only thing I find mildly disappointing about the Appearance panel is it does not support adding multiple fills or strokes to text objects. Perhaps they can add that in some future update....

OMG, it works, really easy to create and save a whole menagerie of line styles, fantastic thank you Murfee
