AnnetteD
Hi everyone, happy launch day! I have a question about things in the pasteboard. I read about turning on Preview mode to be able to see things in the pasteboard. Works fine, also turning off view - view mode - clip to canvas, works great. My question is, I see that I can view things that are put on the sides of my document, but they disappear when putting them at the top or bottom. So I extended the bleed on the document setup and this seems to work, but is there another way to be able to see things that are put in the bottom or top of the pasteboard? This method will work for me, just checking to see if there was a better way.
Staff Mark Daniel Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 19, 2019 When you have multiple spreads the pasteboard of one goes down to the pasteboard of the next and you can drag things up and down to move them from spread to spread but the answer to your question is no, the pasteboards doesn't extend beyond the top and bottom of the whole document and aren't shared between spreads. AnnetteD
Got it, thanks so much for the quick response. I will eventually watch all of the available videos on this new, wonderful program, but I'm trying to get a couple things out to clients first using this program so I come up with some questions. Kind of like learning a new language but I'll get there! Annette
Bryce
How are you seeing objects on the pasteboard? I'm putting stuff there and I can grab it but it's blank in that space.

AnnetteD
Bryce, I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say you can grab it but it's blank in that space. When I put something at the top of the pasteboard, yes, I guess I can also grab it if I know it's there (because I know I put something there) but as soon as you click off of it, the handles go away so I guess it's kind of invisible. Then you can click on the area where you know you put something and the handles are selected. This is for the top and bottom of the document, which Mark Daniel explained above. However, there is pasteboard on each side of the document where you can place things and they are visible, so that is handy. Annette
Bryce
Maybe you can see if I am missing something: I have preview unchecked items not visible pasteboard.mov
AnnetteD
Ok, I see what you're saying. Do you have "Preview" mode off? Go to View - Preview Mode and uncheck that. That made a difference for me. Annette
Bryce
I've tried it both ways. Neither seem to matter. I still think there is an option somewhere for it, but I can't find it.

That was the magical menu item I'd been looking for!! Thanks! I had not seen that anywhere else when searching.
