Guides Still Visible in the Ruler when Guides are Hidden

Is this intentional and by design and if so Pourquoi?

Just guessing but maybe because when "Snap to guides" is enabled & "Only snap to visible objects" is not, there is still a visual cue about their location?

Um, I'm not really sure, to me that only confuses things, I'm not sure it acts as a real benefit unless I'm missing the point. I find it a little distracting having the guides still shown on the ruler when they should be hidden but maybe that's just me.

The Guide line marker on the ruler allows you to reposition the guides when the guides are hidden

Okay, thanks for confirming, at least I now know why they're there... though I'm trying to think of an instance when you'd actually want to do this but maybe that's just down to the way I'm used to working with guides and objects!
