lgeb
The results from https://www.fastrawviewer.com/PixelShift2DNG are not readable in Affinity Photo. I know this is probably a very little used case, but it would be nice to be able to process these photos. In short the program takes the 4 pixel shift images from Sony A7RIII cameras and merges them into one full color DNG "raw" file. For still images it creates a very clean image with slightly higher real resolution.

Staff Chris B Posted July 10, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2019 Hey lgeb, welcome to the Affinity Forums. I've opened the file in a few other apps and they all seem to managed it. I'll pop it across to the developers to see if we can improve support for this. It does open for me but it just looks like a bunch of multicoloured lines. Staff Chris B Posted July 10, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2019 If you change the RAW Engine from Serif Labs to Apple Core the image will open correctly. You can do this from the Develop Assistant. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
lgeb
Chris, Thanks for finding the workaround. I assume the results are slightly different between the raw engines, but the Apple one seems decent. Larry
Staff Chris B Posted July 10, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2019 Hi Larry, There is a difference between Serif Labs and Apple Core. If you're interested, there's a great explanation from James (our Photo expert) here: Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
lgeb
Chris, Interesting. Seems the Serif Labs is a bit less opinionated about what to do to a raw file. Hopefully the dev team can easily add support to the Serif Labs for this file format. Larry Chris B
