Is there a way to crate Layers that are not Groups?

I am used to other tools where I can create Layers that are not actually Groups

Editing and selecting objcts in a tool is complicated (e.g. I cannot marquee select elements) and Grouping and Ungrouping to isolate a “Layer” in my sense is also complicated (e.g. you loose the name of the group every time)

Moreover, I am missing a feature for collapsing all groups in layers menu, which, for complex drawings, is a fundamental feature to navigate in the layers and groups...

Am I missing something?

Hi,

You can just click on the + sign if you want to add a new vector or pixel layer and other options like masks, new layers are not created automatically in a vector program, each new item you add becomes a child of the parent layer, if you want to select a few items from the layers, swipe left to select those chosen layers, you can also select all from the edit menu at the top and group ungroup etc. 

If you get stuck with anything else, type your question into the designer help ( ? ) at the top of the start up screen.
