mackleys
I would like the option to have the light ui on my iPad AD. If this is a redundant ask then please close. I searched and did not find any requests for this—which makes me fear my request puts me in the minority (or my search skills are rusty) PaoloT, wesleyb, Sven Hebinck and 11 others 12
Brian Halm
I usr light ui on mac but also would like it for AD on ipad. Dark version very hard to see tools. Help please Serif.
A_B_C
Yes, that would be very welcome indeed. And it would be great to have the option of customising the toolbar and the studios just like in the desktop version. I’d be happy if I could just hide some UI elements and functions I hardly ever use. ronnyb, Jethro, AllAppsUser and 1 other
mackleys
Restating this ask/ feature request. I prefer to work in a light UI, for me it has better contrast. I would even be satisfied to know definitively that this is not on the product roadmap. Jethro, Borose Media and iuli
dvoth
Yes, I agree. There were requests for this with the desktop apps and it was added later. I think that the option to have a light option should have been carried over when the iPad apps came out. burnhamish
I also have problems distinguishing the tool icons / symbols / layers in the dark interface. Please give us the option of a “light” interface so we can see what we are doing without needing to turn the brightness to 100%. 70ms

b1791
Yes, please add either a light UI or a way to make the icons brighter. I have a terrible time seeing the icons. pepperstreet and 70ms
keithrt
Add me to the list of users requesting a lighter UI. I keep my iPad lighting fairly low to preserve battery life, making the UI icons almost impossible to read. The app would be unusable were it not for the little question mark icon on the lower right that displays labels for each icon.

pinkcrowberry
I'd love a light mode too! I really like working with light modes, it feels more welcoming and easier to spot things.

daryldraws
Yes please, light mode! These 40+ old eyes struggle with the gray icons on black toolbars. This is the best vector graphics app but it’s so hard to use. Please fix. This would be an insta-in-app-purchase for me. 70ms and mackleys

AllAppsUser
I find a light mode tends to be better when working outside. Don't know if others find this so. I assume everyone knows you can lighten the grey surrounding the canvas in the settings/preferences. I know it doesn't help with seeing the tools in the menus, but the reduction in contrst can make things a bit less tiring on the eye. 70ms 1 Quote - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Words are crude implements, difficult to get perfect, easy to get tied in knots with, and often - usually - misunderstood, which is why 'tolarence' is the best word of all. Cyclobob
I hate working with dark mode so yes please lets have this option. It is the tools I want changed.
rawdonyoung
I would really like to see a dark/light mode interface selection like there is on the desktop versions
wesleyb
I add my vote. Forum posts seem like an inefficient means to quantify support. I have also "Liked" the original post. What is the official and effective way to add community support for a feature?
LouisV
I too am in favour of light mode in Affinity's iPad versions, I hope we'll get it soon!
Powerhorse
It is especially impossible to recognize the small symbols at the bottom. The UI is generally too flat, very hard to see anything easily. Robin Riley
I would not have purchased AD if I had known I could not switch to a light interface. Black makes it unusable for me.... 70ms
konstantnnn
the light user interface is really important, because light is the color of paper — white. when i work in an all black user interface, i then print a photo surrounded by white padding and it looks too dark. Wilfred Hildonen
I add my voice to this. If I want to use the textures in Assets, it’s just guessing. It’s impossible to see what it might be like before you choose to insert. I know I can change the greyness of the canvas background in the preferences, but as long as the toolbars and the tools themselves remain dark, it doesn’t help much. Just have a look. So, yes please, an overall light mode is essential, I’d say. iuli, 70ms and Alfred

Black makes it unusable for me.... This is me too. I tried the trial on my computer and was able to change the dark interface to light so I purchased Affinity Photo for my iPad Pro as there was no trial available for iPads. I had thought AP was going to be my answer for all our travels as I can't take my computer with us. However it has been a waste of money as the dark interface makes it totally unusable for me. Here's hoping someone listens and comes up with fix for this issue. 70ms and Borose Media
Catori
I bought an iPad Pro, 12.9, to be able to create away from my iMac. Excited to download AD only to find I cannot see the assets I have created, mirroring the comments above. I’m shocked there has been absolutely zero response from Serif over the nearly two years of messages on this issue above. Perhaps the moderator could get this message across. And I’m sure just knowing this dark mode issue is being addressed would be acceptable, rather than silence. Borose Media
