Phoто Customer Beta - 1.7.1.404 RC2

Recommended Posts

Hi,

why RC2? Should we have to expect very soon v. 1.8 or maybe... 2.0? :)

Maybe this is the reason why the roadmaps are not updated. :)

Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.50 GHz, 6M )    16GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx2)    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

@Petar Petrenko I guess they forgot to upload RC1 or to label the previous build that? ^_^

I do hope they update the roadmaps after Publisher is released along with news about 1.8 being in the works and a date for the Beta. I kind of doubt 2.0 is around the corner when Publisher is just about to launch. As nice as the software is with its baseline features, it would still feel a bit bad investing into the the first version just for Serif to release 2.0 without even a single free update. It would just feel like double dipping for early adopters.

RC1 or RC2, something new is coming very soon about Photo and Designer. :)

Thanks Mark, it is OK with me. But, usually RC# comes with some major update or upgrade and you recently gave us 1.7, so I'm confused with these RC# version. I expect you tell us nothing about that but I think/expect/hope some new version is on its way.

In the prehistoric era of computers RC# and GM were used for announcing major upgrades (#.0.0.0), you started to use them for major updates (#.#.0.0) and now you use them even for minor updates (#.#.#.0). What is next? :)

PS
It losted its purpose.

Final, in this case, is supposed to mean 2.0.
Not 1.7.1 or 1.8.

No, it means the final version that is shipped to the customer, regardless of version number. Anyway, that's enough discussion around versioning and naming, I have bugs to fix and features to write ;-).

There is a keynote in two days. There we will see, what comes next after Publisher. At least it is announced that way.

Mark is unlikely to do that.

I see only Matt, SarahW, Dale, Andreas & Mr. Connor (sorry for the error) only respond via PM xD
