Surprised to see that setting Bleed has significant differences in max size between sides and top/bottom. Is this by design?

Bleed should be whatever value(s) you choose, usually 3 mm all around. It was zero here before I tried to change it, but my units were set to points; when I attempted to ‘resize’ the document to use mm instead of pt, the app crashed.

Edit: I see that the question is actually about the different maximum values. I’m afraid I’ve no idea what the reason for that might be.

When setting bleed the same for all, sides, the bottom bleed line seems further away from page than the others. Alfred I changed from inches to mm without crashing.

I think the gap is there simply because the design doesn’t extend into the bleed area.
