Export crash

Recommended Posts

Whenever I export a file from Designer, using the share function, the app crashes out and doesn’t export anything. Any ideas? I’ve tried deleting the app, restarting the iPad, nothing seems to fix it. Photo does the same. Is it a glitch with icloud photos or iOS or the app? What’s going on? If I can’t export I can’t really use the apps :(

Hi Madebybaz,

Welcome to the Affinity Forum! This is a known issue that is caused by the app not having permission to access your Photos library. If you first go into 'Open from Photos' you will get a pop up asking if you want to allow access. If you accept this, the app can then write to Photos, and you should no longer crash when using that Share > Save Image option.

Or go to iPad settings, scroll down till you see Designer then tap it and change access permission on right side

Hi DM1,
That option doesn't appear until you've had the prompt appear. However if you previously selected 'Never' then that is where you will need to go to change it.
