Can someone explain the “new batch job” command?

Not sure when this was added. Is it just to export a batch of photos in a given format? What about applying the same filter or adjustment to all the photos?

also cannot find any macro as I think happens on the Mac version

thanks

At the moment it is setup to do conversion of several files into one or more alternative formats and be able to resize to any standard size you require. In my humble opinion this will be advanced on in future versions to include more features like the desktop version. These things take time.

You cant export photos already opened in the program using the batch job function.  This is only used on files outside the program to convert them to other formats or simply to resize them

Yes, if you create a macro first and save that macro in the Library, you can run a batch job using that macro and the filters and/or adjustments in that macro will be applied to all the files in the batch job

Edit: Ooops just noticed this is an iPad question, I don't have one of those so ignore everything I just wrote if it makes no sense

Nope, the thought of Friday night beers was clouding my thinking, I have already amended my post

FWIW the "New Batch Job" feature is great to have on the iPad, and I’m sure it will be beefed up in future versions. However, at this time there is a bug preventing it from saving your batch conversions to cloud-based destinations. I have reported this bug and really hope to see it fixed soon.

I take it you mean apart from iCloud which works perfectly for me. I'll agree Dropbox etc are broken.

I think iCloud was fixed in the current beta. None before that.

What @DM1 said. Until the most recent beta (v1.7.1.141) running the New Batch Feature worked ONLY when saving locally to the iPad.

Until only a moment ago (via this thread) I was not aware that any progress had been made on this issue. Perhaps this partial fix was part of the "general performance improvements."

It's great to see iCloud integration with the New Batch Job feature, and now hopefully it won't be long before Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and other cloud storage tools have similar working access.
