Does not appear to be working at all (unless gesture has been changed from two finger on screen and tap).?

This is working for me and has reverted back to the 1 finger hold, you can then tap individual nodes to select with that said however I can't Lasso selection working at all now.   it appears as though lasso selection is now on a three finger hold.

@Sean P The three fingers hold works with pencil.  1 or 2 finger plus pencil would be better.

Surprisingly the 2 finger hold and then draw with finger does produce the  lasso for selection but the 2 finger with pencil does not? Something to do with palm rejection or just set for three fingers?

screen recording shows two finger hold and one finger draw (Touch for Gestures only on). I see the loupe has returned too.

Tapping pencil while holding (one two or three fingers) does not work. No longer able to retain lasso on screen and adjust it.

Hi DM1,

Could you try this in 1.7.2.3 please? I've been trying it myself and its always a three finger hold to bring the lasso up (I presume it's on three fingers, because its a less common selection method than marquee selection - at least it is for me when I'm working in vector). If it is still an issue for you could you put some steps of what you're doing to reproduce it please?

Sean, I can,t fault the three finger on the new beta, nor does the loupe show up any more. All good.

What I cannot do is the other method where you could hold fingers on screen and tap then drag down to start a lasso that would remain on screen and you could reshape it after lifting fingers and returning the pen. You could lift the pen and the selection shape would remain and could then be dragged over other nodes. Has this been removed?

I'm not entirely sure what behaviour you're trying to do if I'm honest! Would you be able to go back to the 1.7.2.2 or 1.7.2.1 beta and record a video using a camera (so I can see what gestures your hands are doing as well) please?

This is the behaviour I'm referring to. Note at top of tent the user creates a dot and drags it out into a line, the line was then dragged over nodes, Fingers removed selection box still visible and able to be further adjusted with pencil.

Ahhh I'm with you now! It looks like Polygonal Selection has disappeared in 1.7.1 and 1.7.2. I'll get that passed onto development.
