What version of Affinity Designer do you have installed? What version of Affinity Photo?

Have you opened and closed both applications at least once since they were installed?

In my case, this two command is also grayed out in both programs. AD and APh both have version 1.7.0.367.

- Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

And you have opened and closed both programs, and then reopened them, opened a document, and the commands are still grayed out?

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be concerned about.

Yes I did, I even reinstalled Both Designer and Photo. I currently run the retail version of 1.7. I had no issues when I ran the beta versions.

@drkanukie 's hint to delete the release folder worked. Now I know what the first opening of the apps does.
