New documents not opening correctly

Open New Photos:

My new photos does not open in a new "document" in the main window, they only appear in the small righthand window at the bottom of the pane!  How can I get it to open in the main center window?  I've tried both to open some different pictures from the file directly and by just "dropping" them with the help of a mouse!  Same zero result!

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues opening your images in Affinity. If possible could you provide a screenshot of this issue so I can look into this further with you? Could you also please tell me if this happens with all images or just RAW photos?
