The color picker found in the Add Global Color dialog dialog only picks colours in RGB, independently of the document color space.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new CMYK document
  2. Create a new object on the page, for example a rectangle with C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:20
  3. Open the Swatches panel
  4. From the Swatches panel flyout menu, chose Add Global Color
  5. Use the color picker found next to the drop down menu to pick the color from the rectangle
  6. Notice the color value is expressed in RGB rather than CMYK

Thanks!

Hi LCamachoDesign,

I've reproduced this and will pass it on to development. The Mac appears to be doing the correct thing, just Windows seems to be broken.

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Global Colour dialog's colour picker always uses RGB) of the program in the latest Windows customer beta of Affinity Photo and/or Affinity Designer. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below.

The 1.8.0.526 beta builds are in links at the top of these beta forum posts.

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
