Andy,

Thanks for the new release. I was testing it when I found that calling one of my Topaz plugins hung APB. That may be due to the new plugin folder you mention in the release notes, but I don't know. And I don't know if you want the report from stopping APB.

- EXIF support for reading / writing PSD.

I loaded a raw image, changed to the Photo Persona, exported it as a psd and reloaded it. The raw image had full exif, but there was no real exif information in the psd.

Andy, the new Built in Plug-ins folder preparation item caught my eye... :D

Also wanted to mention, it would be cool to integrate something similar to the Stock photo palette but for Brushes, so it would search on some sites for brushes to download... However not sure it's technically feasible... Not until the open, online, crowd-sourced Affinity Resource Repository comes on, right? ;) Ok download is done!!

Andy, I think the behavior of the Snapping icon on the Toolbar changed? It definitely doesn't behave like in AD... There is no triangle to access the options, one has to click on the icon itself, which behaves as an ON/OFF toggle in AD. Unless there's a good reason, this behavior ought to be consistent across all Affinity apps to avoid Adobefication (fragmentation in UI and behavior) of similar functionality...

That did it Andy! Maybe I had customized my UI way back when... everything is as it should be; shoulda tried that before posting; I guess I'm over-eagerly looking for bugs to squash! Keep up the great work!

Mike,

Is the Topaz thing a regression, in your opinion? I don't think we've changed any actual Plugin code (that's going to be our focus very soon, though).

Thanks,

Andy.

I have not done enough testing yet but, in previous releases, when I called my Topaz plugins they either worked or crashed. I don't remember ever having had a hang before.

I will do some additional testing to see if this was a "one off" and let you know via PM (if that is OK).

Andy, new bug: If you have some type with the red underline (Check Spelling While Typing enabled) and you have another layer ABOVE the type layer, AP shows the red squiggly underline ABOVE the layer which is covering the type... check it, in this screeshot the selected object is above the type:

Dowloaded the new AP/Beta and saved an AD file, went back to Open in AD and now it won't open it! It says it's from a newer version. Did you guys update the file format without telling us?!?!

I'm working on a project in AD, presenting tomorrow, and I can't continue working on the file because I saved it in AP!!! Can I email someone the file and can you convert it to the old format?! Or when is the new version of AD Beta being released???

@ronnyb

Old wisdom: Never use a beta version for commercial projects.

Installed the new beta this morning - the memory management improved considerably.

This isn't a regression, though: it's always been like that. The red underlines are drawn by the tool, at the same time as selection handles, rather than with the layer, so they always go on top.
