pb4072
Hello, I've got 8.5 x 11 pages, letter-sized pages. I've marked them up with all kinds of boxes and such. Now, some of these boxes go to the edge of the page, and, of course, if I print these pages, those boxes will be cut off. The typical "border" for a laser printer is 1/8-inch, or, 9 points. So, I'd like to make my pages bleed to accommodate these at-the-edge boxes. How can I do that with Affinity Designer? Thanks! Peter
Staff MEB Posted May 18, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 18, 2015 Hi Peter, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Some print options (like trim/bleed control) are not available yet. They are on our roadmap and should be added later as a free update to Affinity Designer. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

budaloco
Maybe this can help. I added the bleed size (6mm / 3mm for each side) as a math operation inside "document setup options" to the page side. Then I went to "margins" and added 3 mm for every side. This creates a blue line that you can use as a reference while the affinity team updates the app, the trim lines will have to be created by the user of course. Hope this helps! Happy designing! ronnyb
ronnyb
Well said budaloco; that's what I do, just make my page larger to compensate and add my crops to the top document layer... Maybe this can help.
