Peter Stevens Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 I have been running Affinity photo for a couple of years and have just upgraded from1.6.5. to 1.7, now photo doesn't load and doesn't give any error messages. It has been running on a Windows 10 Laptop for several years and versions. I have rerun the process and run the repair option, this didn't make any difference. I can't see any errors in the Windows Event Logs, are there any application or installation logs I can upload so that you can investigate? Quote
PATRICKSS Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 See my recent post, very same problem... yet no response from anyone, just like you. Quote
Dan C Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Peter Stevens, Welcome to the forums I recommend following the instructions found at the below post, substituting the following codes/download link for Affinity Photo! {7392fb3e-25b1-4337-90f1-8f481e6631a1} https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/1/ @PATRICKSS I recommend following the same advice here, unfortunately our team works between 8AM - 6PM GMT Mon-Fri, so your thread will be replied to shortly. Peter Stevens Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Dan This looks like it covers a different issue, not being able to install. My upgrade completes successfully, AP just doesnt work following the upgrade. I will try a complete uninstall and reinstall to see if that works. Quote
Dan C Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 I understand Peter, thanks for letting me know. I am hoping a complete reinstall resolves your issue, if not we'll need to investigate further Quote
Peter Stevens Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 I have uninstalled using the Microsoft tool, and then had to go and delete the affinity directory. After I had done this and then reinstalled again Ap 1.7 finally worked. So it looks as though the upgrade did something to the registry that was resolved by the cleanup tool. All OK now Dan C 1 Quote

All OK now Hi Peter, Had to do exactly as you did using the Microsoft tool, every thing else just failed... One tip if you are using a 4k monitor as i am, then to get the correct mouse response in the program the you have to lower the resolution to QHD or lower. many thanks for showing the way.
