snapping with move tool not working???

Which application (and version)? Can you give us a static screenshot of your snapping optiions, please?

Also, what have you done that is generating the green and red diagonal snapping guides? I've never seen those before.

In any case, snapping is working for me with the Move Tool in both Photo and Designer 1.7.0.367 on Windows, @dutchshader.

this is in designer 1.7.0.367, snapping is working ok in photo.

i don't know where these lines come from.

these are the snapping settings, but i have tried every option.

Check your grid settings. 

I think you have set up some sort of isometric grid, which is not visible, but is causing the diagonal snapping guides to appear.
