Teag Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 The clipped highlights are now being shown by a white/grey chequerboard pattern. Is there any way of making it red like before which is much easier to see? Quote
Staff stokerg Posted June 10, 2019 Staff Posted June 10, 2019 Hi Teag, We have this issue logged as an issue with Metal Compute, so i will guess you are running Affinity on a Mac? If so, go into Preferences and disable Metal Compute and you should then see the Red like before. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly Quote
Teag Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 Hi stokerg, I am running a Mac and your fix worked. Many thanks. Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 10, 2019 Staff Posted June 10, 2019 Hi Teag, Welcome to Affinity Forums Do you mind attaching a screenshot of your Mac specs (menu Apple > About This Mac) to add to our report? This issue doesn't happen with all Macs - knowing your Mac's specs could help us narrow down the issue to specific configs. Thank you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
JaneW Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 This is happening to me and I can't find see Metal Compute option but would like to see the colours for clipping rather than the chequerboard. Thank you. Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 19, 2021 Staff Posted January 19, 2021 Hi @JaneW, Welcome to Affinity Forums The Metal compute acceleration setting is located in Affinity Preferences, Performance section, on the bottom (see screenshot for reference). Your config does match with others who also experience the same issue. Turning Metal compute acceleration OFF should make it work until this is fixed . Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
JaneW Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Thank you so much for your quick response @MEB - that has worked and it's so much easier to see. Quote

GRaham-PT Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Just a note to say thanks. Instantly resolved the issue on my Mac mini (2012) running Catalina. Quote
