[1.7.0] "Reveal in Finder" issue after Edit in Designer/Photo

Recommended Posts

I do not know if this is a new issue with the just released 1.7 retail versions or has always been there, or if it has already been reported, but after opening a saved document in either app & then using the 'Edit in Designer/Photo' option to switch to the other app, "Reveal in Finder" is greyed out. It also remains greyed out when switching back to the app that the file was opened with.

Did you re-save the document? I had some issues (still am) like that and I will admit I am still trying to get my head around how this round trip works, in my mind it doesn't work but I could see the document in the Reveal in Finder after I had saved it.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

No, I was not re-saving the file after switching from one app to the other. I frequently use "Reveal in Finder" to show the file in a Finder window along side of the Affinity window so I can check the saved file's size before re-saving any changes, or to make a duplicate, add comments to the 'Get Info' window, etc.

Is this still an issue for you?

Yes it is, but on further investigation it works correctly for native format files (*.afphoto or *.afdesign) but not with other file types like jpg, png, pdf, or tiff.

In your video, I am not sure what the filetype of your Untitled 1233 file is, but maybe if you try one of the others in that folder like the untitled tiff or png or one of the pdf's you can duplicate my results?

Yup! That's done it - I was previously using an afdesign file. Just tried it with a JPG and was able to reproduce instantly. I'll get this passed on, thanks!
