tleparskas Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Upgrading to 1.7is a bit dissapoionting. There's just too much lagging and "Not Repsonding" pop-ups between actions - for example in doing a cut-out - the brush hangs and waits - then is back. I have an i7 cpu with 32 gig RAM and an Nvidia card with CUDA. Where's the bottleneck? Thanks Tom Quote
ocelotito Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 I've also had problems with the new version being slower. Just exporting a .jpg file took way longer than with the old version. I would really like to go back to previous version but I bought it from the mac store. Quote
Dan C Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Hi tleparskas I'm sorry to hear this, we'd certainly like to investigate it for you. Firstly, I recommend resetting the app to default settings, you can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. Please let me know if you're still having issues after this. Quote
Dazmondo77 Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 1.7 seems loads slower and jittery than 1.6 especially with large or complex files but I found you can cut down on beach ball by switching off snapping I only noticed the massive slowdowns from beta 1.7.8 Be amazing to get somewhere near the speed and fluency of 1.6 with 1.7 Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 2.2.0 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6, Sonoma 14.7.3 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.5.7 Betas 2.6.0(3125) www.bingercreative.co.uk
