Hi,

When I change a bullet point from a 'bullet' to a 'right pointer arrow', it leaves the bullet on there as shown below.

Unless I'm being stupid, I cannot find anyway of removing the original bullet?

Also, is it possible to change the colour of the right arrow/bullet to say red, and leave the following text in black?

Thanks in advance

Rob

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Rob.

First: How did you "change the bullet"? That may be related to the result that you got. For that matter, how are you creating the bulleted list, as that may also be relevant to your next question :)

For that next question: Yes, you should be able to change the color of the bullet or arrow. To do that you need to update the paragraph style that you (I hope) used to setup your bulleted list. For example, you can create a Character Text Style that specifies the color you want. Then you can edit the Paragraph Text Style you assigned to the bulleted list and change its characteristics by specifying that character style for the bullets.

Here's a screenshot of the editing dialog for Bullet 1, with the relevant tab and field marked:

Selecting the Right Arrow from the drop down in studio Paragraph > Bullets & Numbering seems not to replace the bullet with an arrow, but to append an arrow to the end of the existing bullet.

This is not the behavior I was expecting - it could be a bug, others would have to say.

You need to delete the original bullet and then add the arrow (or vice versa).

@walt.farrell  - thank you for your quick response! It looks like @Aammppaa has solved it. I deleted the recent ones i'd used on the "Text" field and they disappeared!

I've just done what you said regarding creating a new style with the colour i need and it worked, so thank you very much :)

Appending is a useful function, for some situations, so I would say it's intentional. :)

It's intentional. In general you can put multiple characters into that field. For example, ---->, or [•]. You can also replace the tab with a fixed space. So we don't try to guess what portion of the text you want to delete.
