[1.7.0] Stroke issues with both tablet and mouse

Recommended Posts

[Update] I can confirm the following: This issue doesn't happen when I'm using exclusively the mouse and change to another window. It happens when I'm using the tablet and then change windows or alt-tab. Then stops working properly until I close and reopen the program.

Hello all. I recently updated to 1.7 and been experiencing this behaviour.

When I first start the program everything is fine. As soon I alt-tab to do something else and return to designer, it stops reacting properly to stroke movements from both tablet pen and mouse. I recorded a sample as you see below.

This is a desktop computer running Windows 10. Drivers are mostly up to date. This behaviour also happens in designer persona, strokes made with the vector brush tool are always straight no matter how much I move around, and it's hard to work with the pen tool as well.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I have a similar bug.

This  issue happens when I'm using Wacom tablet and mouse. It's looks like when I changed the windows a few times the bug will happen. The Wacom pen will can't be control. Then I can't use zoom tool and view tool.Until I close the Designer and reopen it.

This bug only appears on 1.7 version.

My system is Windows 10 64-bit version 1903.My Wacom tablet is Intuos Pro PTH-660.Drivers are the latest version.

Posted on another, similar thread. But this is exactly the bug. It occurs with both mouse and tablet. If you use mouse instead, it draws a straight line between where I pressed, and where I released.

Hi guys,

Thanks for letting us know. I've reproduced this - it seems to be caused by clicking on the Designer UI (not the document area) with a Wacom Pen whilst your focus is in a different app. If you click on the document space when the focus is elsewhere it doesn't go wrong.

Could you confirm that is the case for you all please. I'll get it passed on to development.

Hikitsune-Red, what tablet model are you using?

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Wacom Tablet starts drawing straight line after changing focus) of the program in the latest Windows customer beta of Affinity Photo and/or Affinity Designer. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. However, you will need to enable Windows INK inside the Wacom Mapping tab.

The 1.8.0.526 beta builds are in links at the top of these beta forum posts.

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
