marksou Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I updated (via the Mac App Store) both Photo and Designer. The icon for Designer is now missing (I just get a generic App icon). Quote
firstdefence Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Try removing the icon from the dock then opening Affinity Designer and adding it again to the dock. marksou Posted June 6, 2019 Author Posted June 6, 2019 Hi @firstdefence I didn't have Designer (or Photo) saved to the Dock. The generic icon is also displayed from Spotlight as well. Quote
Old Bruce Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 This is a problem which crops up from time to time. The solution is to go to the Finder and swap the icon in the Get Info window of the app. You may need to 'Approve' some or all of the steps with an Administer's name and password. Open your Applications folder and select Affinity Designer, hit Command + I to get the Get Info window. Do the same for any other file. Choose the icon in the top left of the any other file get info window (click on it) Copy it and then paste that icon onto the icon of Affinity Designer's Get Info window. Immediately delete the pasted Icon from the Affinity Designer get info window. You should now have the correct Designer icon after deleting the any other file's icon. All the copy/paste is done in/to the Get Info windows. stokerg and marksou 1 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. RNKLN Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 I have this with my iCloud folder icons. The above suggestion doesn't help in this case (can't access the Get Info menu item - grayed out). melbaylon Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I also had the same problem. What I did was to move the Affinity Designer file from the Applications folder to another folder like Downloads. Then move it back to the Applications folder. It fixed my icon problem. IsItMe 1 Quote
