Problem with the new direct noise filter

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone,

I am sending you this message because since the Affinity update to 1.7 the noise filter options panel has been completely modified. As a result, I no longer have access to the extreme features I used in many of my paid tutorials!

This is a real problem for me, especially since when I open my old Affinity files, double-click on my noise filter the old settings panel is present and the values can be changed !

So my question is the following, can we still access the old dialog box and if so how?

Thank you in advance

Denoise, Clarity and Shadows / Highlights filters have been rewritten (using technology from the Develop Persona).

I had seen this, but the behavior of this new version is totally different from the original one and my question was rather, is it still possible to access the old settings / noise filter settings ?

Thank you.

Hi @lugi, you have a couple of options:

1) Use the bilateral filter, it will produce similar results to what you were used to seeing with the Denoise filter.

2) If you open a document with Denoise saved in 1.6, and double click the filter in 1.7, the old dialog will be displayed.

We recommend option (1) for your use-case.
