Have I just had a new version of AD automatically loaded?

Object handles disappear when moving a guide line - I don't remember that happening with the previous version.

If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!

You see the version number on the startup screen (and might notice the app icon and startup screen look different if you have 1.7). And if you’ve missed that, in the menu go to “Affinity Designer > About…” to bring it back up and see the version you have.

Dragging a guide in 1.7.0.367 (Windows) does indeed cause the selected object handles to temporarily disappear during the drag, but the selected object handles do not temporarily disappear when dragging a guide in 1.6.5.123. I have no idea why this is different or whether it is the new expected behaviour in 1.7.
P.S. I noticed that when I went into 1.6.5 a dialog popped up telling me that a new version was available. I didn’t press “Download”.

I have version 1.7.0. and it crashed twice whilst trying to open an existing file using 'Open Recent'. I had to navigate to the folder where it was saved to open it.

Why do the developers waste time making cosmetic changes to AD when there are more pressing long standing requests being asked for?

Oops sorry! There I go shooting from the hip again!

Because the update was automatic I didn't see the release notes until I opened your link.

The cube grid could be useful but until I try it I won't know.
