Dave Gamble
Hi i use LUTs using the Files facility on my iPad. Worked fine on previous version. When I try with 1.7 all my LUTs are greyed out and therefore won’t load into Affinity Photo. Help! Dave
DM1
Not having a problem here. Select a LUT Adjustment from Adjustments Studio. Tap Load in context menu and I can see them in Documents (Readdle), ICloud, and Dropbox. What type of LUT file are you loading. Mine are .cube. Dave Gamble
Thanks for reply. My LUTs are.cube. Just tried putting two in Dropbox. Same result. They are greyed out when I try to load them from Affinity in the usual way. BTW I deleted and reinstalled Affinity just in case the upgrade was the problem. DM1
In Files, try edit and turn off Dropbox. Restart File and edit turn on Dropbox. Sometimes that helps. if you want to attach one of the lut files here I will see if I can load it. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Dave Gamble
Thanks. Tried your suggestion but sadly not having any luck. Greyed out LUTs in both Dropbox and iCloud. I’ve attached a LUT as you offered. Hackmanite - Rec709.cube
DM1
@Dave Gamble, Dave, just to let you know I was able to download the lut .Copied it to my Documents (Readdle) download folder on my iPad, and then loaded it via the LUT context menu, navigating to the download folder. No issues, so it not the lut file. Perhaps try a reset on the iPad. Cycle the Power and Home button to get the Apple symbol and let it restart. I had the same issue during beta testing. Couldn’t load from anywhere, and reported it as a fault. It was ok in the next beta release so I have to assume they fixed it (at least on my model iPad). I assume you have iOS up to date? If the reset doesn’t fix it we'll have to see what the mods can suggest. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Dave Gamble
Hi and thanks again. Did the reset and also downloaded Readdle and tried with that. Still no luck - the LUT files remain greyed out. I have the 10.5 inch last generation iPad Pro ie the pre USBC one. My IOS is up to date. 1.7 runs well and noticeably faster but my LUTs simply don’t work. They did yesterday before the upgrade. Therefore looks like the upgrade is probably the culprit.

Dave Gamble
Hi Kaspar apparently it’s a known issue that’s been logged with the developers. So I guess we wait for a fix!
DM1
It’s been fixed in the beta and a release is due soon. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Champagne Ivers
Still experiencing this issue with *.cube luts on iPadOS public beta 2 and AP 1.7.2.147 on a 12.9" iPad Pro (3rd gen; 2018; 512 gb). Also, cannot import macros (greyed out in all storage locations just like LUTs). Thanks, Jason
Dave Gamble
Same experience as Jason for me. Beta 2 hasn’t made any difference unfortunately. Dave
DM1
Weird. Apart from having this issue with an early 1.7 beta (pre release) I have had no further issues. Dropbox, iCloud both work fine with LUTs. Have you tried switching cloud access off in Files and then back on? Might be worth clearing Dropbox cache too. Anything’s worth a try at this stage. Dave Gamble
Unfortunately nothing I do seems to make a difference. I bought an app called Video LUT to test whether I have an IOS problem but it works fine allowing me to access my LUTS in Files and import them. Guess I’ll have to wait for a fix. Sadly it has rendered Affinity Photo pointless for me to use as I need the LUTS to do what I want and it worked really well prior to 1.7. Thanks for all all your help. Champagne Ivers
I reverted back to iOS 12 and last official AP release. Still doesn’t recognize CUBE luts, but no problem with 3DL.
Dave Gamble
Thanks. Think I’ll just wait for Serif to fix it as my LUTS are .cube and I use them in Exposure x4 as well.
Dave Gamble
Hey Serif developers Latest Beta doesn’t fix LUTS issue. Doesn’t say that it will either in the list of fixs. Do you have any timeline on when this bug will be addressed please. As my workflow depends on LUTS it basically means I can’t use Affinity. Thanks Dave
Dave Gamble
Hi all LUTS now work from Dropbox but are still greyed out in iCloud. I’m ok with Dropbox so my problem is solved. Thanks very much to all who offered help and to developers for fix. Dave DM1
