PhoDesPub
Hi I opened a file from Adobe Illustrator. Is it true that you can't change the text. For me, the individual letters are simply individual graphic characters, but not coherent text. Thanks for an answer.
Staff Dan C Posted June 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 4, 2019 Hi PhoDesPub What import settings did you use please? When importing an .AI file we read the PDF stream, meaning you should see the PDF import dialogue before your document opens. Have you tried changing the text settings here? Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! soapman
Sorry to bring up a old thread, but with adobe CC and my one page PDF i do not get the prompt about grouping lines of text. There is another option or setting for this fix? thanks.

MikeW
This thread is about opening a pdf in Affinity Designer that was exported from Illustrator. Not a pdf made from an Affinity application and opening it in Illustrator (which is what you are doing). The only option in Illustrator is what you show.
