PhoDesPub Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hi I opened a file from Adobe Illustrator. Is it true that you can't change the text. For me, the individual letters are simply individual graphic characters, but not coherent text. Thanks for an answer. Quote
Dan C Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hi PhoDesPub What import settings did you use please? When importing an .AI file we read the PDF stream, meaning you should see the PDF import dialogue before your document opens. Have you tried changing the text settings here? Quote
PhoDesPub Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 Oh, this works like a miracle. Thanks Dan C 1 Quote
soapman Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Sorry to bring up a old thread, but with adobe CC and my one page PDF i do not get the prompt about grouping lines of text. There is another option or setting for this fix? thanks. Quote

soapman Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Hum all i seem to get is the ask menu attached. This a direct export PDF from designer to AI Quote
MikeW Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 This thread is about opening a pdf in Affinity Designer that was exported from Illustrator. Not a pdf made from an Affinity application and opening it in Illustrator (which is what you are doing). The only option in Illustrator is what you show. Quote
soapman Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 you are totally correct. Im sorry i missed that. Woke the dead for nothing! Sorry Quote
