Selection Brush Marquee Tool - Convert The Marquee To Path/Curve

Recommended Posts

Hi, can AD or AP (Desktop)convert the selection brush marquee tool to a path or curve. In the image below I have used that tool and have the marquee but Convert To Curve is greyed out in the right mouse option box. I can do this in Fireworks 8 quick and easily.

Thanks for any help.

No it can't, it doesn't have any bitmap based selection or selection to curves tracing/vectorization functionality. You would have to redraw the above shown selected forms manually with the pen tool etc., or use some third party autotracing/vectorization tool.

v_kyr  thanks for your response. I thought that may be the answer as I searched around and couldn't find anything.

Would you know if this is something that other users are looking for, or is already  feature request or maybe even being worked on?

It's something I use often to copy then create vectors in FW8/CS6 and as you can see would be ideal in the image shown.

I think this has been often requested ...

... I skipped some of the tracing/vectorization tool feature requests here, which are even more. - I don't know if they have this on their features to implement todo list, aka so if they plan or will possibly work in future on this.
