Unable to edit existing text

Unable to click into edit existing text on Affinity Photo document.

Text layer selected.

Tried clicking in with artistic text tool and it just adds a layer, same with double click. CMD+Click literally does nothing.

Is the text from a Master Page? Is the text locked?

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

That text is a Pixel layer (no longer text or editable as text)

If you originally create it as text then somehow you converted it to a pixel layer

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Sounds strange, as far as you don't merge (flatten) layers or rasterize art or frame text that shouldn't happen. You can easily see from the layers panel if a layer is kept as pixels (pixel) or as editable text, the little layers icon weill tell you.
