Lotsi
I´m recently working on a book of 44 pages, that has a leporello binding. That means, all pages are on one very long sheet (front and backside) and folded in a zigzag to fit inside a book envelope. Any idea, how I can represent these connected pages in the layout? Because there, the pages are separated on double spreads.
mac_heibu
Create one(!) page in length of the whole leporello and divide it into the needed sections by placing guides. You can add guides very simple using the guides manager or by placing a rectangle with the needed width, place it onto the page and snap guides to its edges. Creating a layout like this is a matter of not even 5 minutes.

For instance when it is about output pages in sections (e.g. for correction on letter-size prints), or moving pages, or output fold-marks ... mac_heibu
Yes, in a way. I’d print page segments („poster“ options) by using Adobe Acrobat Reader. I didn’t tell, this is „best practice“, but with a small amount of creativity the lack of this feature is no real obstacle to achieve one’s aim. thomaso
I agree, I was just wondering that you mentioned the time at all, without any complaints here so far, it would take too much time to draw such a layout grid. mac_heibu
A Leporello Grid? I said, it is done within less than 5 minutes.

As time goes by: Ah, a shortcut to create page divisions AND fold-marks in 1 go: Use rectangles (in folding edge lenghts + bleed), duplicated with offset by menu Edit > Duplicate. To hide their appearance for print export cover the page with a filled rectangle inside bleed. To hide all incl. fold-marks simply set their layer (grouped on master page) to invisble. thomaso
Just now, mac_heibu said: A Leporello Grid? I said, it is done within less than 5 minutes. Agree again. Just mentioning that short time at all made it suspicious Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
fde101
For that many squares maybe consider using grid manager instead of individual guides?
Paolo Greco
Hi! Sorry for the question, but how did it go, and where did you get the book printed? It's surprisingly hard to find printers for leporello books!
