Mandu
I have a random .EXR file created in Houdini that should have transparent background. When imported in PS it loads as it should. But in AP I get 4 different layers, one RGB, one alpha layer, third is opacity and fourth layer is something that looks like reflection. Anyway, neither of them has transparent background like in photoshop. I will include the .EXR file for your reference. Is there something I missed? untitled1.exr
Rick G
I tried opening this in designer and irfanview and got the same results. I wonder if this is not an export problem with Houdini. However XnView shows the hatching background which indicates that it is reading the file as having a transparent background (OK I put those words on the graphic. Staff Gabe Posted June 3, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 3, 2019 Hi all, When we open EXR files, we load all the channels as layers. In Preferences > Colour , you can specify to load the alpha as a channel rather than a layer. ( Associate OpenEXR Alpha Channels ; leave the other 2 unticked ). This way, when you open the file again, you will only have 3 layers - which is correct: RGBA on the top, Op_Id.[Op_Id] in the middle and Prim_Id.[Prim_Id] at the bottom. Since we don't need to see the other 2, you can just hide them in the layer studio. What you're left with now is the "correct" image you expect. Thanks, Gabe. walt.farrell
