Align different objects nodes

Hi all,

Is there a way to align nodes from different objects like the video attached? I use that in illustrator all the time for 2d polygon art.

No but if you add a horizontal guide line and have snap to guide enabled you can drag each node to snap to the guide.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have to do this in many different places in my artwork. I have to rely in another app for now.

I’m sorry, but maybe I didn’t understand what exactly do you want to do.

Of course the possibility of selecting a node or an object to which all others are aligned would be greatly appreciated, using the information that is already available within the software.  I hope the developers can do it already in the next Release 1.7.

I didn’t know you could do that. I guess that’s on way to do it. I guess it would be helpful for now, I hope they add an easier way to do that.

Thanks for the help.

@Angelos58:  I think your magic is more powerful than your video suggests.  I experimented with it, and you can use the Transform Tools Alignment options to align pairs of nodes - see the attached screenshot.  Both Distribute Horizontally and Distribute Vertically operations work.

Now I wonder if there’s a way to use this technique without deforming the areas/shapes bounded by the curves on which the target nodes appear.

Here’s another example I would never have expected - this time I used this technique to deform a curve symmetrically.

The first screenshot shows two nodes an the same curve selected, ready to move horizontally using the Transform Tool.

Second screenshot shows the curve after the transform.  I used the Transform tool to change the horizontal position of the two selected nodes.  As it happens, these two nodes were at the same X positions before the transform; I don’t know yet what happens of they start at different X positions.

EDIT: The screenshots are displayed in reverse order in this post - first one below is actually the AFTER.second one os BEFORE.
