KipV
127 and 128 have been by far the buggiest versions of Photo 1.7 for me. When I go to studio > layers the layers panel won't open. Some layers have color shifts. Everything works in 125 which is still installed on one of my Macs. KipV
Update: When I tried 128 on my laptop the layers panel opened now but the color shifts remain. New Internet Book Project | Another New Website Project
Staff MEB Posted May 23, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 23, 2019 Hi KipV, Do you mind attaching a file affected by the thumbnails colour shifts please? I can provide an upload link if you don't wish to post it publicly. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
KipV
This seems to be only happening with files created in 1.7 beta. In this particular file the whole document shifts in color to purple. In another file it is only half of the layers. Am I the only one to report this? It happened on both of my Mojave computers. Is there a new white balance tool that is replacing the old? All the color correcting was done within the 1.7 beta. Also they will still need to fix the the layers panels that doesn't show up on one of my Macs. Staff MEB Posted May 23, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 23, 2019 Hi KipV, Regarding the Layers panel issue, press and hold CTRL while launching the application until a Clear Use Data dialog appears. Keep the first three checkboxes ticked and press Clear. This should fix the Layers panel issue. If you still have trouble with it before you update to the next beta build let us know. I believe that's a casual glitch due to the recent updates. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

By the way when it reset the layers back to their original small size that reminds me; could you also add an XL layer preview of those of us on 5K iMacs and other high density screens? "Large" is quite small on this screen still! New Internet Book Project | Another New Website Project
Staff MEB Posted May 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 24, 2019 Hi KipV, I will pass your suggestion/request to the dev team. It's then up to them to decide what/if this will be added. Thanks for your feedback. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
KipV
Great, It's good to see Serif deliver bigger icons but man with these high density displays a couple sizes larger than what they have currently would be so helpful! Staff MEB Posted May 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 25, 2019 Hi KipV, Regarding the legacy white balance adjustment issue, this behaviour (colour shift) only happens with documents created in earlier v1.7 Betas. To fix it, double-click the adjustment to open the dialog and click (or nudge) one of the nodes a little. You should receive a notification telling you the adjustment was updated and the colour should now render properly. With documents created in version 1.6 (the current retail) it should render the Legacy White Balance Adjustment correctly from the beginning, so this will not affect non-beta users updating to v1.7 when available. lepr 1 A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

Great, that fixed it. Do I only need to do this with the white balance tool? Just out of curiosity for people who never used the beta (they will just go from the shipping version of 1.6 to 1.7) will they also deal with the issue or just those of us on the beta? Staff MEB Posted May 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 25, 2019 1. I will have to confirm this myself as I haven't been around lately and I'm still catching up. 2. For people who never used the Beta this is anon-issue. Files created with version 1.6 will render the legacy white balance correctly (no need for nudging).
