David Caush
Hi I have just recently purchased Affinity Photo, for a Mac. Whenever I attempt to use the Healing Brush Tool or the Inpainting Brush Tool, it works very intermittently. As a total novice, I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, or their is a glitch with the programme. I do the initial alterations to my images using the development persona. firstdefence
Can you explain a bit more about what you mean by intermittently? Oh you should be able to upload an screen grab to show the effect you are getting now. David Caush
What I mean by intermittently is, I upload an image to edit which I do successfully. The next image I upload, when I attempt to use the healing brush tool, I can’t get it to work!
Alfred
Are you using the ‘Place’ command, or are you loading/opening the images? (The term ‘upload’ usually refers to putting a file on a web server.) Check the layer designation in the Layers panel. If it says ‘Image’ instead of ‘Pixel’, you’ll need to right-click it and choose ‘Rasterize’ to give you a layer that you can work with at the pixel level. firstdefence
Alfred meant to look at the imported file in the layers panel See screen grabs below, note the layer type indicated by the (Image) tag at the end of the layer name. Note the (Pixel) tag at the end of the file name after right clicking and selecting Rasterise, this enables you to edit the imported image to a greater degree.
