Exporting jpegs off by one pixel

Recommended Posts

Why are my exported jpgs resized to be 51px high when the artboard shows 50px? I see that when I try to save out it changes it to 51px. Is there something I need to do avoid this? I'm having to re-export several files sent back to me from a marketing agency because of this 1 pixel being off.

Check that the pixel dimensions are whole numbers (so you know they won’t be rounded up) and check that your artwork is aligned to the pixel grid.

Also, check that the ArtBoard is aligned to the pixel grid. With the Move Tool selected, click on the Artboard name and then look at the X & Y positions in the Transform panel. (Note: you may need to increase the number of decimal places for pixel displays in your Preferences for the User Interface.

Alternatively, you can simply re-enter the number that you see. If it looks like (say) 25 pixels and you enter 25 in the box, it will then be exactly 25 even if it was originally 25.0002.

How do I check for this?

Use the Transform Panel to check dimensions and use Force Pixel Alignment but not Move by whole pixels in Snapping.
