paolo.limoncelli Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Hi All! I'm testing new tools on the iPad Pro (first Generation) and I'm experiencing (with default ones too) a sort of delay when I quickly lift the pencil. My stroke ends before the real endpoint and the remaining part appears half a second after. Will add a video later. Chris B 1 DAUB® Brushes making tools for artists, illustrators and doodlers
Staff Chris B Posted May 22, 2019 Staff Posted May 22, 2019 Hey Paolo, I think I can reproduce this but I'd certainly like to see what you are seeing. Did you get chance to record a quick video? How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
postmadesign Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I have noticed this too, it is a bit distracting paolo.limoncelli and Chris B 1 1
Filo63 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I'm trying the .127 version and I also noticed a certain inertia on the end of the stroke when drawing with a certain speed. In general, everything is much more fluid and responsive, but at the moment the pencil is raised, a small additional stretch arrives with a certain delay. All on the iPad PRO 2018 ... the last one Ciao Fabio Chris B and paolo.limoncelli 2

paolo.limoncelli Posted May 22, 2019 Author Posted May 22, 2019 Thanks Chris! Had no chance to make a screencapture yet... But Jeffrey and Fabio well described the issue! For sure better than I did... DAUB® Brushes making tools for artists, illustrators and doodlers
Filo63 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 In the last version the .128 I have the impression that the problem has been solved. Everything is much more fluid even compared to 1.6 and the brushes, even those by Paolo, have a more natural response. Ciao Fabio

SONB Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I'm having this issue in the latest .128 build. I'm on an iPad Pro 2018.
Staff Chris B Posted May 23, 2019 Staff Posted May 23, 2019 Hi SONB, Could you do a quick recording for us? I'm not seeing it in this build. How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials

Here's a slo-mo video where you can clearly see a small brush segment appearing at the end of every stroke. Hope it helps. 030BCB28-2980-4376-9B63-A65627CCB48C.MP4
Filo63 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Very strange, I have a fluid response with the iPad PRO 2018 Ciao Fabio IMG_1965.MOV RPReplay_Final1558716297.MP4
pixelcoder Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 I can confirm this, I have noticed like SONB's Video and some brushes like the Daub Natural ones are sometimes unusable slow and laggy. iPad Pro 10.5 2017 cheers, Lutz | https://www.instagram.com/lutz.heidbrink | https://500px.com/lutzheidbrink | https://www.eyeem.com/u/pixelcoder | https://society6.com/pixelcoder iPad Pro 10.5 - iOS 11.4.1 - Affinity Photo 1.6.7 - Affinity Designer 1.6.0.35

Since I have only the 64GB Version I was running low on space, I restored my device wich was on the iOS 12.4 beta2. After the restore I was on iOS 12.3.1 again. So I setup the device as new, not from a Backup. After installing the Photo beta again, its now super smooth with all brushes without the lag and the end of each stroke. cheers, Lutz Chris B 1 | https://www.instagram.com/lutz.heidbrink | https://500px.com/lutzheidbrink | https://www.eyeem.com/u/pixelcoder | https://society6.com/pixelcoder iPad Pro 10.5 - iOS 11.4.1 - Affinity Photo 1.6.7 - Affinity Designer 1.6.0.35

Staff Chris B Posted May 28, 2019 Staff Posted May 28, 2019 Have you tried the Release Candidate Filo63? How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Filo63 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 @Chris B I'm trying it with 180 mb files and I have to say that it remains very fluid ... I tried painting on large textures. Compared to version 1.6, those annoying white squares that appeared and disappeared while they were drawing. For now I am very satisfied even if I have not had the chance to try it in situations so different from the drawing. Ciao Fabio Chris B 1
