Layer effects not sticking

Recommended Posts

Half the time when I set layer effects (usually 3D or outside shadow), they don’t stick. I click on on another object, and the effect I just set up goes away. The other half the time it sticks. Is there a trick to make it always stick?

As long as the context menu is visible tapping elsewhere usually resets it. I find a tap on selection tool gets rid of context menu and locks in settings, especially when using fx studio.

it's sort of strange. That only works if I use the layer list to select another object. If I just click on another objec after clicking on the fx panel, the effects go away. Thanks for the info - now I have a work-around.

I'm thinking it would be nice if there were more instances of the message: "Do you want to commit these changes",before one can move on, as there is for transitioning from some of the other personas. I tend to make the same repetative mistake of not pushing the check.

That would drive me crazy! 3D doesn’t have a checkbox - adding one would be easier to get used to.

When using FX because often you use multiple FX at the same time having to confirm each one would be a pain. All you have to do is select one of the other FX to lock in the previous until you return to it. Double click on the FX to bring back the context bar and adjust as necessary, remembering to tap on another location on the FX bar to lock it in.
