Number of duplicated

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately no, not at the moment. It is necessary to use the Edit menu, Duplicate option. It is a shame as it makes power duplicating tedious.

How many things are you trying to duplicate?

Ctrl+J is the shortcut (for Power Duplicate) and is reasonably quick.

I have always liked the approach taken in SketchUp…

I create a duplicate and then type *47 and it will repeat the duplicate operation to create a total of 47 items.

Or, even more useful, duplicate and then type /11 and it will repeat the duplication dividing the distance between the original and the second copy into 11 equal spaces.

Very fast and intuitive.

So could be in Designer with more power. But the app developers maybe are few sensitive.

Argh! I wish there was a way to tell the forum that I never want to see threads from the iPad subforums. Otherwise, I frequently end up looking like an idiot!

Affinity Photo for iPad has a ‘Duplicate’ option on the menu bar that appears when you long-press on the canvas. Perhaps this will be added to Designer in the next version.

And ... also in designer you press duplicate and you duplicate. But the question is : can you insert the number of repetitions? Or, can you insert a number of subdivisions?

No, you can’t insert any numbers. I agree that it could/should be much more flexible, but at least you don’t have to go up to the Edit (‘...’) menu and tap twice to access the option.

Or put it on one of the Studio menus where you can pin it to stay open. Been done before if memory serves.
