Exactly how does someone determine what the current Persona is? I can find no visible indication of the current Persona state. The only thing I have been able to find is that clicking on the Affinity Photo command usually displays 4 Persona links and that the one that is missing is the one I am in, but that does not always work since sometimes there are no change links displayed.

What is the easiest way to determine what the current Persona is? And yes, I generally remember what I changed to, but that does not help if I got called away from editing and return 30 minutes later, and it does not help when an image is originally opened.

UPDATE:

Never mind. Got it figured out.

By default, the Persona icons are the first item on the left in the toolbar, so unless you have changed that or hidden the toolbar, the one with the darker background is the one you are in. This may be easier to see if you use the "Light" UI style, or adjust the UI gamma for higher contrast (in Preferences > User Interface).

I use the default UI/gamma settings, and I have no problem with Persona identification.

However, highlighting would certainly be useful.

I have hoped for that since I first started using Affinity Designer in 2014, & more than once made a feature request for that or something similar. Instead, we got the Light UI style, which doesn't really solve the problem. >:(

It would be enough to replace the dark/black border with a bright one at the current button icon design (minimum work), because the dark border on a dark button background does not really help to highlight it. And it might be optional in preferences.

Such an unnecessary inconvenience.
