Alex_dlc
I have a sketch as a png, I opened it by dragging it to the Affinity designer icon on the dock, then I drew a bunch of shapes over that sketch, but when I wanted to save it, it would only let me save it as a png, and not the usual Affinity Designer project. Staff MEB Posted May 4, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 4, 2015 Hello Alex_dlc Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Yes, if you open a png it will save by default to the same file format you opened (unless it's proprietary). If you want to save it as an Affinity file do a save as instead. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

Staff MEB Posted May 4, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 4, 2015 If you use Save as, it will save to the Affinity native file format. For other formats you will have to use File ▹ Export (unless you have opened a generic format directly).
