Aquire Image... bug causes crash

Recommended Posts

If I select "Aquire Image..." from the File menu, the scanner window opens and my scanner scans and shows an overview of the image.  I'll select the area of the image I want to scan, and if I change the Image Correction drop-down from None to Manual, and click Scan, Affinity Photo will always crash while scanning. If I don't select anything from the Image Correction drop-down, and leave the default of None, and scan, then Affinity Photo doesn't crash. My scanner is a Canon LiDE 120 and I'm using Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on an iMac Pro running macOS 10.14.4.

I just downloaded and installed version 1.7.0 and I'm disappointed that this problem still occurs.

@GabrielM

Confirming this remains a 100% reproducible bug in 1.7.0.

Affinity: disable the Manual Image Correction option until this bug is fixed. Hard crashing the app should NEVER be allowed.

Version 1.7.1 still has the same problem.

I have to say that this sort of thing doesn't instill confidence in your products. I don't care how pretty the GUI looks, this is unacceptable.

I use Pixelmator/Pixelmator Pro instead, and I've deleted Affinity Photo from my computer now.  If it hard crashes with something like this, I don't know if it's doing  other damage to macOS because of this.
