The Affinity Publisher logo

Recommended Posts

Ever since I first saw the Affinity Publisher logo from time to time I have been thinking that I have seen a coat of arms of someone famous in history that had several bends dexter upon it.

I remembered that UMIST had a shield like that,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Manchester_Institute_of_Science_and_Technology

but I seemed to remember that someone famous had a coat of arms with three thin red bends dexter.

Today I found it, though they are called bendlets,.

It is the coat of arms of Lord Byron.

That seems a very odd choice of name for something which follows a straight path. :o

Matters arising.

The description of the coat of arms for Lord Byron includes the word 'enhanced'.

I had not known of that word used in heraldry and I found that there is a page for it.

Why not tell @firstdefence ?

I have been looking at the logos for Affinity Photo and for Affinity Designer as well.

The logo for Affinity Photo is elegantly subtle, like a letter A and the iris of a camera.

That leads me to think that there may be similar subtlety in the design of the logo for Affinity Designer.

Another slow day at the Affinity Forums.:29_smirk:    Beats other sections busy dreaming up another new wrinkle that the apps MUST HAVE, NOW!!!!   As for Alfred, I'll bet his school teachers thanked their lucky stars when he graduated to the next grade!    "How?"  "Why?"  "Why Not?"  "'BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!"

It was the teachers, by the way, who said, "BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!"

I more frequently heard "BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!" from my parents.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Didn't work at our house.    I asked my father "Why is why?" when I was about 4 years old.    It was downhill from there.

Trying to get Old Bruce's remark in.   You beat me to it, before I deleted those.   KNEW you were a problem in school!     It's the IQ's of a vegetable (probably a parsnip) who don't drive their teachers batty.
