To remove the white fill, tap on the ‘No Fill’ swatch (the one with the blue diagonal line through it) as shown at the 14-second mark in Angelo’s video. Josie
I don’t want silly answers. How do I do designs like these on the iPad version of affinity photo or designer? also how would I do a rainbow cat with the brush tools? On the iPad
Alfred
12 hours ago, Josie said: How do I do designs like this in affinity photo or designer using the iPad? Please create a separate thread for each question. This has nothing to do with the topic of filling a shape with a pattern! 35 minutes ago, Josie said: also how would I do a rainbow cat with the brush tools? Ditto. Also, please ‘bump’ your previous threads on these topics by posting to them again, instead of constantly creating duplicate threads where it’s impossible to keep track of what’s already been said. And most importantly, give us feedback: tell us what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, what you expected to happen and what actually happened. As mentioned before, choose just one example and follow it through until you’ve nailed the technique, rather than throwing a whole bunch of different pictures into the mix. Wosven
Most of the previous post show work of painter or illustrators. To be able to do those, it'll depend of your skills. To improve your skills, a good way is to open those paintings or illustrations in AD, and repaint with another layer on top. Good old way to learn techniques. More difficult is to do the same with the original in another panel, or in a book, to learn to draw same proportions and same strokes without tracing on top of the original. The easier one you can try for beginning are the 2 rainbow cats you shown earlier. Import one of them in AD, lock it Add a new pixel layer Select a brush Use the colour picker to select a colour Paint where this colour is used Repeat from 4 to 5 until finished
Josie
And the design with the suits? How would I do that?
Alfred
39 minutes ago, Josie said: And the design with the suits? That’s not “the design”, it’s seven different designs! As I advised earlier, you need to choose one. Having said that, the principle is the same as for the astronaut picture: put the cat on one layer and the suit on top, and then erase (or mask) parts of the top picture to let the corresponding parts of the other picture show through.
