Hi. Spent the day exporting a PNG to the desktop but when I want to upload it to use it in a Photo Album programme it does not give the choice to upload it -it is separate on the desktop. It won't even save in a folder. Au secours. Jpegs no problem - just PNG's.

Au secours ! Llattif

What OS (Mac, Windows)?

Which Affinity supplication?

What photo application, and how are you trying to upload it?

I am saving it to the desktop - all is fine but when I try and call up the desktop content I get all the jpegs etc but it stays on the desktop.

Does anything on this PhotoBox Why Are My Photos Not Uploading? support page apply to your PNG files, like maybe they are too small or too large?

Thanks. Have checked and it is within all the limits. Have also checked all the other limits/rules and it fits all. The problem really is that I can get it to the desktop as a PNG but when I want to upload it to Photobox it will not upload directly and will not appear in the desktop folder - it stays on the desktop.

Apprecite your advice. Roger

To me it sounds a bit like the combination Photobox + PNG is the problem and not AD +PNG. Or is it possible to upload PNG's created in other programs?

I have saved an image as a PNG in the Desktop folder. When i go to upload.photobox.com (is it the right site?) it recognises the image.

Yes, it is that Photobox. Because I have cut out a circular photo and do not want a background it has to be exported as a PNG. That's fine. BUT it will not go to the Desktop folder but stays on the desktop from where it will not upload .... I know I'm repeating myself but that is the problem How can I get it to somewhere else ?

Really grateful to you.

Make a folder in Pictures add the PNG to it and try uploading from there?

I've uploaded a PNG to Photobox, very straight forward, also try a different browser.

Desktop but I'm on Mac so not really a comparable test. Not sure which browser you are using but I would use a different browser to eliminate browser issues. You could also upload the offending PNG I could try uploading to my Photobox, this would eliminate PNG file issue, i.e. corrupt file.

I'm also on Mac (with Safari). Even a PNG with transparency is recognized. Looks like it's Windows specific. No further recommendations from my side, I'm afraid.

Yes, that file uploads fine from my desktop

I wonder if the file name is the issue, -I doubt it but just checking all options, when I downloaded it it was babepng.png.8953310e6fd4fd0cd884c32c0a22c9d.png. Make sure its just babe.png

Do you have show file extensions turned on from folder options so you can see the file extension? or do you just see babepng as the name and not babepng.png

Thanks anyway RNKLN

I get the same results as RNKLN (see screenshots below).

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by the following:

Are you able to navigate to the folder that contains the PNG files and view the PNG files in the normal Windows File Explorer (forgetting PhotoBox for the moment)?

I think it’s probably best if you upload some screenshots or a video demonstrating the problem, as that may help us better understand the problem and shed more light on the issue.

The PNG file only comes as a file is to the desktop - not in the folder. Once it is on the desktop things (eg jpegs) can usually go onto the desktop and then are uploadable also from the desktop folder. My problem is that the PNG's export to the desktop screen but from there I can only open them in some other programmes such as 3D paint. They will not go anywhere else but the desktop and from there are not accessible to Photobox.

It still is not clear what you mean from the way you are describing this. You can save files to any folder you want that you have write privileges for, or move or copy them among different folders. This has nothing to do with PhotoBox, or with the Affinity apps in particular. These are basic functions provided by the OS, so if you don't understand how to do that, you need to learn how your OS works in that respect.

Regardless, as has been suggested it would help a lot if you uploaded some screenshots to this forum, change browsers & see if you can upload your PNG's to PhotoBox using that browser, try uploading PNG's from another source, & so on. Otherwise, we will just keep going in circles because there is not enough info to work with.

This discussion sounds strange – like "png stays in desktop but does not appear in desktop folder" – is the desktop folder as a mac user would understand it? That is, contents of the desktop show in a folder "Desktop" in user's home directory?

If the pgn just refuses to upload I would assume there is some incompatibility between AP png and Photobox. Try to resave using other application.
