iPad Air or iPad Pro?

Recommended Posts

I don’t have experience of any iPad other than my humble Air 2. However, from what I’ve read about the iPad Air 3 and the 10.5” iPad Pro, the Pro model has a significantly slower CPU than the newer Air 3 but it has a much faster GPU, 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB, four speakers instead of two, and a better camera.

Thanks for the reply. My original post wasn’t very clear, I was trying to find out if the extra performance of the latest iPad Pro 11 is worth the extra money over an iPad Air if I’m only going to be running Affinity.

I don’t do much video just photos so not sure if the Pro is going to gain me much.

if it’s going to make editing photos from RAW a lot quicker then it would be worth it.

On the contrary, your OP was perfectly clear. I just don’t have first-hand experience of iPad models other than the one I’m currently using.

The only advice I would offer is get the best model you can afford. Future app features/releases may require more ram/cpu/gpu power. Better to have it available and not use it than to need it but not have it. :)

M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB   lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Affinity Design 1.10.5
Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2 and betas.
