Nodes will not connect where/ how I need them to.

Recommended Posts

Hello good people of Affinity,

My problem is trying to get the nodes (curves) to connect into a solid shape.

The four highlighted curves on the right side of the image, are supposed to roughly create a star/sun shape.222892596_ScreenShot2019-05-06at4_02_07PM.thumb.png.e4be6aef52e016b91e14e681dd8a34d0.png

When I hit the add bar at the far left, what I end up with is the image underneath, which gives this diamond line shape over everything.

Is this something other people experience as well? I have no idea how to get around the issue. Any help is

much appreciated.

Try hitting the add button on your tool bar. Leftmost with the " + "

Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hey there, sorry I wasn't clear about it in my initial post. I just edited the wording, to clarify, because I did do

what you suggested initially, and that gave me the problem I still have.

Chris, in the node tool click on the action Join Curves.  Personally I would only select 2 of the layers that "connect" then do the join (you have more control).  The 2 layers should become one.  Then select again 2 layers that should "connect" click Join, etc.  When you have all 4 in one layer click on the Action Close Curve.  That should do what you want.

This worked perfectly! Much appreciated Gear Maker.
