edge07
Any progress on this? One of the most requested features for me (as I'm so used to smart guides in Sketch).
Macoun
I would like to add my approval to this suggestion. Showing the distance between objects makes life infinitely easier. After having used two different implimentations of this functionality (fireworks & keynote) I notice it's absence in other applications. This would be a win for many users. +1 This is really important. I heavily missing this functionality known from Xcode, Keynote and Sketch. * Samples from Xcode Interface Builder Samples from Keynote Samples from Sketch P.S.: Take a look at "3. UI focused interface" and "9. Handy measurement tools". Meanwhile, Affinity (...) but lacks any measurement tools. You can’t tell the distance between objects or scale an object by demanded percent value. DAD 1 Quote I don't use Photoshop and never used Illustrator. Staff Ben Posted April 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 25, 2016 It's being worked on now. I just have to ask though, why do people think Sketch is the benchmark for this? I've played with it a lot and it is really buggy. It often doesn't allow me to snap to obvious things, or when it does snap it doesn't show the measurements. Also got it to say three different sizes for things that were supposed to be snapped equally. paolo.limoncelli
I just have to ask though, why do people think Sketch is the benchmark for this? Sketch is far from a benchmark... It is still bugged as hell on this side. Real life usage, 25 artbards, 4 pages. I offer a dinner to anybody able to explain the mess above, or the one below to me... Macoun
I just have to ask though, why do people think Sketch is the benchmark for this? I don't know. In the most cases it shows the numbers i need. And if not: Select an object. Point on the other object and hold the alt key. You'll see just the distance of that two objects. Example: Quote I don't use Photoshop and never used Illustrator. Macoun
It is shockingly... boring. There are many thing that drives nuts, but this feature works for me. P.S.: Maybe i have to add: I don't have the latest version of Sketch. Quote I don't use Photoshop and never used Illustrator.

Macoun
It would be totally adequate to get the distances between only two objects. Anything else is nice to have, but not essential for survival. paolo.limoncelli
I don't have the latest version of Sketch. Up to version 2 Sketch was really nice, with 3 started some weirdness. It still remains a de-facto for UI design but it is far from perfect. They improved lots of things but missed the point for other and even cut off features... Personally I think that since Sketch 2 even Photoshop (that I use for UI design only if customers ask for) has been improving more and better than Sketch 3. Staff Ben Posted April 29, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 29, 2016 Well, let's hope we can put things right. There will be a bunch of new features in 1.5. I think we will have a bug fix release before then, though. After that some time we will be putting 1.5 out to Beta. paolo.limoncelli 1 Quote SerifLabs team - Affinity Developer Software engineer - Photographer - Guitarist - Philosopher iMac 27" Retina 5K (Late 2015), 4.0GHz i7, AMD Radeon R9 M395 MacBook (Early 2015), 1.3GHz Core M, Intel HD 5300 iPad Pro 10.5", 256GB
Macoun
Up to version 2 Sketch was really nice, with 3 started some weirdness. I'm still on Version 2.x :) And i see no reason to switch to version 3. It still remains a de-facto for UI design but it is far from perfect. I think it is because of the straight and responsive ui. Everything is just one click away. You'll see all options, effects, styles, etc. at any time. And everything happens in live in realtime. So you're getting the result you want very quick. That makes it very efficient. And that was the big mistake made by the competitors. Especially by iDraw. They improved lots of things but missed the point for other and even cut off features... Correct. They focusing on fancy features, but don't fixing the heavy bugs. I looks like there's no more quality control on board. And also the customer support has left the boat. That's the downside and the reason why i didn't upgrade Sketch. ...And i bought Affinity Designer short time later. Personally I think that since Sketch 2 even Photoshop (that I use for UI design only if customers ask for) has been improving more and better than Sketch 3. I'm hoping that Designer can replace Sketch one time. paolo.limoncelli 1 Quote I don't use Photoshop and never used Illustrator.

Staff Ben Posted June 27, 2016 Staff Share Posted June 27, 2016 The measure tool will be in the next Beta release - didn't quite make the first 1.5 build. Hopefully you'll find it a bit better than the Sketch3 one, which to me seems to be just broken.
