p_mac
I am having an issue with the object selection and the refine tool. ‘When I select a specific background colour, use ‘invert selection” from the drop down menu, then refine, there is no mask be created. Anybody know why.
Old Bruce
I am not seeing this here. I am not certain but I think we have to wait for the first refine to complete before making any adjustments. Do you get a selection even without a mask appearing? Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
p_mac
Hi Old Bruce i had an image of a very bright orange kite in a blue sky with cloud streaks. When I selected the sky using "select blue" and refined it almost all of the image was masked. That shouldn't have happened. I then tried to select on only the kite but it has long stringing flyers and that didn't do the trick because those flyers were daunting. So I tried to select the sky again then invert selection a got nothing, no mask but the selection was there. I have noticed that the selection process isn't as good as before. I am wondering if I have my preferences set wrongly i have a MBPro 15" 2017 late. This might be a settings issue.
Staff Chris B Posted May 3, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 3, 2019 Hey p_mac, Would you be able to do a quick recording? I'm not seeing this either so I'm wondering if there's a step I'm missing. Staff MEB Posted May 3, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 3, 2019 Hi p_mac, When refining the selection check if Matte Edges is ticked (on the top left of the Refine Selection dialog). Untick it if that's the case. Not sure what else can cause this. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
